ABOUT THE PLACE

Sandsele is one of the most beautiful and cosy accommodation place You can imagine. The place has the same owner as Lillselbränna – but is situated on the north side of the river Vindelälven, close to the road 363, Your group is totally alone in the forest by a small lake with perch and some trout (perfect for cooling down after the sauna) . If You follow the small forest road by the cabin for 300 m, You reach Your boats by the river Vindelälv, within the fishing area Sandsele FVO.

This is the place for You who wants to be totally alone with Your friends , having a sauna and a relaxing week- but You must also accept a little more simple standard. There is no 220 V electricity or municipality water system in this area. Its out in the forest with the solutions necessary for a cabin this isolated. Electricity is Solar 12 V (with possibilities to charge mobile phones) and kitchen is gas with no running water. Water for dishing and cooking You get from the lake (or hot water from the sauna). The shower is a 12 V system in the sauna with water heated by the sauna.

Sandsele has 4 different small cabins:

– Main cabin (25m2): With a small kitchen area with gas stove, dish zink, fireplace, one bed sofa (2 beds) kitchen table with chairs

– Sleeping cabin (15 m2): One bunk bed (2 beds), one bed sofa (2 beds)

– Storage/Dry closet: 12 refrigerator, 12 V electricity panel, storage area for dry food. In a separate compartment You find the dry closet

– Wooden heated sauna: 10 m from the small lake is the sauna with 12 V shower pump system with water heated by the sauna. If the water tank goes empty You just fill it from the lake

FISHING AREAS

The fishing area Sandsele FVO has everyting You can ask for. You can fish close to 20 km of the river Vindelälv, with everything from wide, slow water for pike, perch and grayling or fast water areas with salmon, trout, grayling and pike adapted to fast water. You can also fish in surrounding lakes for pike, perch and arctic char. Just communicate with the owner and he will help You with fishing in different kind of waters within the same fishing area and license.

Fishing season:

Fishing for pike, perch and grayling can be done all thru the summer. But if the spring flood is late and rich, the safest week to start fishing in this area is the 4th week in June. In July the river goes down in size after spring flood and melted snow from the mountains so its a good season for pike, perch and grayling. Dry fly fishing for trout and grayling is rewarding from late June to August.

The salmon is late in this part of the river and starts most often around August 15 (but salmon can be caught from last week in July) to September 15 (rules regarding dates can vary from year to year regarding salmon).
