Gargån is a small cabin situated on a small island in the peaceful and small river Gargån, a few hundred metres upstream the wild and untamed river Vindelälven with salmon, trout, grayling, pike and perch. When You arrive to the river Gargån, the first You notice is that You are totally alone. No neighbors, only You, Your friends and Your cabin on the island. Put Your stuff in Your rowing boat and row the 50 m to the island-and enjoy the silence and freedom.

At the river Gargån is a boat to cross the river and to use for fishing this small river with the nice pike. By the big river Vindelälven there are also wooden boats for fishing salmon. As well as inflatable boats with gasoline engines for the wider parts, where the big perch and pike are. Contact us for more details of boat placement and wishes for Your group.

N.B: The cabin has only a 12 V electric system and gas for stove and fridge (no freezer). So if You have high demands on electric equipment and wifi in your accommodation, this might not be the best place for You. But if You can accept this system, You will fall in love with the place. Its the coziest place you ever visited.

FISHING AREAS

The fishing area Gargå-Råstrand is magnificent. Its more water then land and you have many opportunities. From lakes to small and slow rivers to the roaring mountain river Vindelälv. You will feel like being a part of a spectacular, rural painting. The best of all-You will have endless of fishing opportunities. The lakes in this fishing area are countless.

Fishing season:

Fishing for pike can be done all thru the summer and autumn as well as for perch. Dry fly fishing for trout and grayling is rewarding from late June to August.The salmon is late in this part of the river and starts most often around August 15 to September 15 (rules regarding dates can vary from year to year regarding salmon).
